With that in mind, I need to report that On A Lark, Janice McClure’s eclectic gift shop/gallery at 849 E. Ohio Ave., may just have what you’ve been looking for for that someone who has everything. McClure is offering paper products – blank writing paper and journals – made from poo. That’s right, folks: poo. Not just any poo, but elephant poo and panda poo.
The paper goods are “manufactured in Thailand from poo collected in China,” according to the labels. They are totally odorless and hypoallergenic, unless the simple thought just leaves you a little ill. Part of the proceeds goes toward the protection of these particular animal species.
A pack of paper or a small journal goes for $8, are quite nicely packaged, and are sure to get the attention of your holiday assemblage. McClure’s sister is a teacher, and awards her students with a piece of poo paper for success in class. It has apparently become very valued currency at her school.
The little ones in your family might want to take their pennies over to On A Lark on Sat., Dec. 6, for the Little Larks’ Shopping Hop, 10-a.m.-6p.m. Parents can help their kids choose inexpensive holiday gifts at On A Lark, then slide next door for something tasty at Wash Perk coffee house. Wash Perk will host a craft hour from 2-3p.m.
