The 43,600-square-foot store was one of 567 locations closed shortly after the new year, as part of the 60-year-old company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy. There is no word yet on a potential user for the building.
Breakfast lovers took a kick to their collective gut when Village Inn shuttered its longtime location at 1595 S. Colorado Blvd. earlier this year. The closure was another ripple from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filed by parent company Vicorp in early 2008.
There will be no need for locals to go hungry any longer, as International House of Pancakes has a crew on site transforming the property into the familiar IHOP format. We can’t tell you yet when the first order of pancakes will be served, but know they’ll surely be worth waiting for.
