Founded in 1998 “to provide a great selection of outdoor gear and pet health food at affordable prices,” Colorado Petfitters grew to three locations a few years back, before increased competition, the economic downturn and a dramatic jump in rent made the shutdown necessary.
“It was a good 12-year run,” said Brouillette. “We had a great time and appreciate everyone’s support.”
A few doors north of the old Petfitters location, a sign proclaims the pending arrival of Zingers, which, when open, will (according to the afore-mentioned sign offer “all you crave.”
A quick perusal of its website, www.zingers.biz, revealed the nascent operation plans to present local diners with “the best chicken wings in Denver” served with “taste-popping sauces” like Buffalo Hot, Hickory Smoked Salt, Honey BBQ, Chili Lime, Chipotle, Crazy Asian, Fried Ginger, Jamaican Jerk, Pineapple Habenero and “WTF?” In addition to killer wings, expect Zingers’ own brand of chicken nuggets, chili, Big-Peak fries, sandwiches, salads and more.
