Torgove’s business has focused on providing women “with the information and resources needed to support self-healing and integration of herbal medicines, natural remedies and elements of self-care and beauty” into their lives. This can be as simple as a little aromatherapy to alter your state of mind, or as complex as a Mayan Uterine Massage to coax the uterus and pelvic organs back into optimal placement in the pelvis, “supporting reproductive health and the body’s innate capacity to heal.” Among the inventory at this most unique boutique, you’ll find essential oils and lip balms, bath bombs, incense, candles, cosmetics, lotions, potions and wonderfully decadent chocolates, providing a healthy dose of the anti-oxidants we should all have in our diets. (Ask about the February class that will teach you more than you ever thought you’d know about this delicious dietary “necessity.”) Torgove is planning a variety of specials and sales throughout the month. After picking up stakes and leaving Cherry Creek behind, the popular duo decided to abandon their longtime Mel’s Bar & Grill moniker, opening a new restaurant, Montecito, in the old Piscos location at 1120 E. 6th Ave., following it with Montecito South, in Greenwood Village. With the restaurant business slumping along with much of the local economy, and longtime fans crying out for the old Mel’s, the Masters decided to reestablished their well-known, and very popular, brand by resurrecting Mel’s, and burying the Montecito. Montecito South now answers to the name Mel’s of Greenwood Village, while the 6th Ave. location is now Mel’s Bistro. The menu on 6th Ave. blends the old with the new. Mel Masters told us that his new chef, David Oliveri, “is as comfortable preparing a fabulous Mel’s Burger as he is with something perhaps more creative,” such as Long Island Duck Crepes or Sauteed Scallops with roasted butternut squash For now, Mel’s will be open for dinner only, Tues.-Sat., 4:30-10:30p.m. – the bar will stay later as business requires. Beginning Dec. 11, Mel’s will be open for lunch Tues.-Sat. as well, starting at 11a.m. Visit www.melsbarandgrill.com or call 303-777-8222 for information.
