Founder Kathleen Nevin and her partner Kristin Snow (whose card reads Cupcake Operating Officer) deal out an impressive menu of gourmet cupcakes ($2.95-$3.50 each) that raise the once-pedestrian treat to a whole new level.
Try the Monkey Love – a super moist banana cupcake with a rich cream cheese frosting, or Whirl Peace – a vanilla and chocolate cupcake smothered in vanilla and chocolate buttercream. You’ll find familiar names with a Big Fat Cupcake twist, like the Boston Cream Pie – vanilla cake layered with vanilla custard and frosted in chocolate ganache; the Heath Bar – chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream and topped off with Heath Bar crunch; or the Creamsicle – an orange cupcake with a cream filling and an orange buttercream topping.
In addition to the 20 standbys on the menu, Snow prepares a different “special flavor” each week, as well as a Celebrity Cupcake of the Month, honoring one of Denver’s more notable movers and shakers. Medium-sized and mini-cupcakes are available by special order, and Illy coffee is brewed daily.
