Friends of Chamber Music presents the much-esteemed Catalan conductor and viol player, Jordi Savall with Hespèrion XXI. No one has done more to unearth and champion lost and forgotten works from the medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras than Jordi Savall. With his wife, renowned soprano Montserrat Figueras (1942-2011), he founded in 1974 what is now called Hespèrion XXI, a period-instrument ensemble that compellingly explores centuries-old musical traditions from around the world.
